Campylobacter jejuni

A major contributor to foodborne disease caused by bacteria, typically found in raw or undercooked chicken and unpasteurised milk. Possible symptoms of infection include fever, nausea, diarrhoea and stomach discomfort.

While the majority of patients get soon better on their own, severe cases may require antibiotics and may result in complications such as Guillain-Barré syndrome, a rare condition in which a person's immune system attacks the nerves in your body.
