St John’s College, Old St Mellons,
Cardiff (Wales, UK)

St John's College is a private co-educational day school in Cardiff. It is the choir school of Wales' national Catholic cathedral, the Cardiff Metropolitan Cathedral of St David.

St John's College is divided into four sections: the Nursery and Infants (ages 3–7); the Junior School (ages 8–11); the Senior School (ages 12–16); and the Sixth Form College (ages 17–18).

Within the Senior School, pupils study Biology, Chemistry and Physics as separate subjects. They can choose to study Astronomy as a co-curricular subject if they wish.

At Sixth Form, many pupils study the Sciences, with lots of our pupils leaving with aspirations to read Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical science at university.

The Science Department has 10 experienced and specialised teachers, where Miss Lauren Knight is the KS3 Science coordinator. Lauren is an enthusiastic teacher who loves all things Biology, Chemistry and Biochemistry. She has been teaching at St John's College since 2018.

Fun fact: The school has participated in the international F1 in Schools competition to design and build a miniature racing car!
